The Push is an annual philanthropy event jointly held by the brothers of the Beta Mu Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta and JHU ROTC. It is an event that FIJI chapters across the country put on, and it raises money for the USO. The USO serves active military personnel and their families. They provide supplies and goods for soldiers during their transition to the field as well as while they are deployed. The USO also helps with their transition back into civilian life, and provides support and resources for wounded soldiers and the families of fallen soldiers. To learn more, please follow the link to the USO's website: https://secure.uso.org/OM_BRD/... The actual event entails teams of 8 pushing a humvee (large military truck) across an open field. There is also music, games and food provided to create a fun atmosphere and draw in as many people as possible to support this great cause. JHU ROTC is already in the process of securing access to a humvee, with authorized military personnel operating it at all times, but we do need an open field, which is where Hopkins comes in!
Event attendees will have their hands stamped so as to allow for reentry. Note that pre-ordered tickets cost $5, but tickets purchased the day of the event or at the door cost $7.
